Should I use required or optional filter conditions?

To give you a precise answer, let’s see what conditions are good for.

Required condition

Every required condition has to be met in order for the card to get in to the filter.

Let’s see an example:

  • I would like to filter those opportunity cards on which the Expected revenue is more than 500€ and the Sales status is In progress:
  • I would like to filter those opportunity cards on which there is a contact person whose position is Chief Executive and there is no next action:

Optional condition

In order for a card to get into a filter, at least one optional condition has to be met. In case of adding required conditions as well, all required ones have to be met.

Let’s see an example:

  • I would like to filter those opportunity cards that was modified by John recently, OR the next action is assigned to John, OR John is the owner of the card:
  • I would like to filter those opportunity cards on which a phone number or an email address is added to the company:
It is recommended to add at least two Optional conditions, otherwise, it will function as a required condition.

Use them simultaneously

  • I would like to filter those opportunity cards on which a phone number or an email address is added to the company and the Sales status is Lost opportunity:
    • Required condition:
    • Optional conditions:
